We are proud to carry forward the legacy of Bread and Roses Housing by expanding affordable homeownership opportunities across Haverhill, North Andover, and Lawrence. Guided by the Community Land Trust model, we remain committed to creating permanently affordable homes that strengthen families and bring long-term stability to our communities. As we move into this next chapter, we welcome those who share our vision to learn more and walk alongside us in shaping the future of our neighborhoods at one home at a time. Our upcoming projects reflect both our growth and our unwavering belief that every family deserves the chance to build wealth, security, and a sense of belonging through homeownership.

This affordable homeownership development at 38–40 Curtis St. is a partnership between with the City of Haverhill to expand homeownership opportunities in the Washington
Street neighborhood. The project will construct one duplex containing two owner-occupied units, each designed as a
three-story townhouse with 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a full kitchen, a living room, a dining room, a 1-car garage, a
driveway, and a private backyard.
The development is located on Curtis Street, a newly built road intended to catalyze housing development in one of
Haverhill’s most underserved areas. The Washington Street neighborhood has historically had low homeownership
rates, a higher concentration of older housing stock, and limited new residential investment. Median household incomes in this area are significantly below the citywide average, and more than 55% of households are renters, contributing to long-term instability and displacement
pressures.

This affordable homeownership development on 14-20 Browns Ct. in North Andover is a partnership with North Andover Housing Trust to expand homeownership opportunities in the historic Machine Shop Village area. The
project will construct three duplexes, creating six owner-occupied units. Each unit will offer 3 stories of living space,
including 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a full kitchen, living and dining rooms, a driveway, and a private backyard.
Located in the heart of North Andover’s downtown, this project will revitalize a section of Machine Shop Village
where the existing homes have fallen into severe disrepair.
The neighborhood, rich in mill-era history but long underserved by reinvestment, has struggled with aging housing stock and limited pathways to homeownership. By
replacing dilapidated structures with high-quality, energy-efficient, affordable homes, this development will bring new life into the area, strengthen long-term housing
stability, and help ensure that families of moderate income can continue to live and build wealth in North Andover’s historic core.
Your support makes this work possible. Every contribution helps us create permanently affordable homes, guide families through the homeownership journey, and strengthen the communities we serve in Lawrence, Haverhill, and North Andover. When you invest in our mission, you are investing in stability, opportunity, and generational change for families who need it most. We invite you to join us whether through a one time gift or ongoing support in expanding access to the American dream of homeownership. Together, we can ensure that affordability, dignity, and opportunity remain within reach for generations to come.
